Celebrating 50 Years of Showing Student and Youth Groups the World | (800) 323-6439

Brad Rosenbaum is the General Manager at Hemisphere Educational Travel.

What is your favorite part about your job?

My favorite part of the job is coming in everyday and being with the Hemisphere Team. Our company has continued to grow due to our employees’ dedication to performance and customer service. I am very proud of our team and what they have accomplished in my 16 years as General Manager.

Where is your favorite destination?

So many to choose from, but if I have to pick just one it would be Santorini, Greece. We visited the Suites of the Gods and it was the most beautiful view I have ever seen. For those that receive this newsletter each month, you would have seen our 2012 family photo from that same spot in Jennifer’s spotlight article last month!

What’s the best thing you’ve learned while traveling?

Long before I was in the travel industry, I did not travel out of my comfort zone. I did not travel outside of the U.S. until I was well into my 20’s, when I qualified for an incentive trip at a previous job. While I was nervous about leaving the country, once I returned I realized what I was missing out on. Since joining the family business in 2002, I have been lucky enough to travel and experience many different countries. Travel has taught me to be open minded to new destinations, new cultures, new languages, new foods and new experiences.

What’s the best thing you’ve eaten while traveling?

The best thing was eating fresh crab on the beach at a restaurant in Ixtapa. The most interesting thing I have eaten was fried grasshoppers with my team in Cancun.

If you were stranded in an airport, what three things would you want with you?

My laptop (Netflix), my cell phone and a deep-dish pizza.

If you could run into anyone famous—fictional or nonfictional, historical or mythical—during travel, whom would you want to run into?

I would have loved to run into Arnold Palmer and talked to him for hours about his life and golf experiences.

What’s one thing you would recommend every student group do while traveling?

Definitely eat the local cuisine and enjoy the tastes that each destination is known for!

What destination on your bucket list do you most want to visit?

Toss-up between golfing at St. Andrews in Scotland and Octoberfest in Germany.

What’s your favorite activity while traveling, or something you’ve always wanted to try?

While I love relaxing on a beach, I also enjoy golfing, or going for a scenic run through a city. I would love to run the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon in Dublin one of these days.

What do you love about travel?

I love that each trip I take offers new experiences, opportunities and memories. The ‘unknown’ can also be fun. Whether it’s taking a spontaneous journey, finding a hole-in-the-wall restaurant or bar, or meeting new people, each trip can be a completely different experience.
